Toronto High Park Football Club
Toronto High Park FC and LiveActive Sport Medicine are excited to announce their partnership that makes LiveActive the exclusive healthcare providers for the club. In 2017, Toronto High Park FC joined the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL) for the 2018 season. OPDL is the pinnacle of development for youth in Ontario, providing players within the Talented Pathway with the best possible training and competition environment. This partnership allows all Toronto High Park FC athletes and coaching staff to benefit from rapid access to quality care.
LiveActive’s West Toronto facility, located right beside Lakeshore Collegiate training grounds, shares space in an 8000 sq/ft high performance training facility. Our patient population often includes young athletes trying to return to sport, prevent injury, or improve performance.
Working with sport organizations is nothing new to LiveActive. The LiveActive medical team has been involved at all levels of competition ranging from field side medical coverage to health care decision making for international games. Regardless of the sport, rapid access to diagnosis and treatment is paramount. With that in mind, we offer, when possible, no more than 24-48 hour wait times for new injuries to all of our affiliated sports clubs. In urgent cases, we can expedite imaging, and help navigate our healthcare system to speed up wait times for MRIs or specialist consultations.
THPFC Athletes and Coaches Will Have:
Rapid Access Assessment
When a new injury occurs, it is imperative that a diagnosis takes place as soon as possible. This allows the athlete, coach, and medical team to work together to ensure appropriate steps are taken to help each athlete return to sport safely and efficiently. All Toronto High Park FC athletes and coaches will be seen be medical professional at LiveActive within 24-48 hours of any new injury, when possible.
Dedicated Medical Professional
Nikki Garcia, a registered physiotherapist with LiveActive, is available for a quick review of any new injury. Following a new injury, it can be challenging to know what initial steps should be taken. Nikki will help guide whether hospital/urgent care, family doctor, sport doctor, or therapy is the best course of action. She can also help identify some self care techniques to do at home to manage pain and prevent further injury until a proper assessment occurs.
All athletes and coaches at Toronto High Park FC are entitled to a 10% discount on all services at LiveActive. This extends to all therapy services including physiotherapy, dietetics, chiropractic, and massage therapy. Pedorthic services are excluded from this discount, as are products, braces, and injections.
If necessary, appropriate imaging can be organized by our Sport Medicine Doctors. This includes, X-Rays, Ultrasounds, MRIs and other relevant tests to ensure your medical professionals are addressing the injury appropriately. Our medical team can help coordinate and expedite imaging during emergency situations.
Our team is excited to host in-person and virtual seminars for Toronto High Park FC. The goal of these seminars are to educate players and coaches to help improve sport performance and help prevent injury. The seminars will include concussions, sport nutrition, and injury prevention.
