Medical Support Pink the Rink
LiveActive Sport Medicine is gearing up for one of the largest all girls’ hockey tournaments in North America called Pink the Rink. Teaming up with an incredible women’s hockey organization and the founder of PTR, the Etobicoke Dolphins, LiveActive will be providing medical coverage at its home inside of the MasterCard Centre for all participating athletes.
Pink the Rink is in its 8th year and is proud to host more than 200 teams and over 4000 female hockey players from across North America. The tournament is not for profit and all proceeds are donated to the Canadian Breast Cancer Support Fund helping individuals currently undergoing treatment. LiveActive Sport Medicine Health and Performance has joined forces with the Etobicoke Dolphins to help your players have a safe and enjoyable tournament. LiveActive is a multi-disciplinary sport medicine clinic inside Journey to Excel, in Rink 2 of the MasterCard Centre and we love hockey! We will be providing First Aid, rapid injury and illness assessments, taping, and urgent therapy treatments at the MasterCard Centre. Check out our team here!

Dr. Laura Cruz, the league physician for the Canadian Women’s Hockey League, will be available all three days of the tournament. The walk-in clinic will be hosted inside LiveActive Sport Medicine, inside Rink 2. Appointments are covered by OHIP or your provincial health insurance plan. Bring your Ontario or provincial health card.

If you need immediate attention, a Band-Aid, or bag of ice, you can find us in the lobby of the MasterCard Centre. Look for our logo or call us at (416) 201-9777. We will do our best to identify ourselves clearly, but Pink the Rink is one of Canada’s largest tournaments in North America, call us if you need anything at all! We will have all of your sport therapy supplies available.
If you suffer an injury, or are overcoming a pre-existing one, LiveActive physiotherapists will be on-site to help. Versatile in soft tissue and manual therapies, taping, acupuncture, and fascial stretch, our team can help ensure you’re loose and ready for your game.
Tournaments are always tough on the body, as there are many of games over a short period of time. If you need to get the edge back in your stride, a massage might be what you need. Whether it’s to loosen up tight muscles or provide a short flush, our massage therapist, Joshua Rago, is well versed in hockey specific treatments. Joshua is on the medical team for the Toronto Furies of the CWHL.
